The beginning

The Nikkor 58 1.4 G ,the lens I fell in love with

After seeing many Pictures made by the rather newly introduced Nikon Nikkor 58 mm 1.4 G , I finally pulled the plug and tried one. I thought I had to get used to it first, like the wonderfull but tricky Nikkor 135 2.0 DC, but no. It was love at first sight and I think it’s a joy to use. the rendering is out of this world gorgeous. It’s a unique look in the dslr world. I only had the chance to shoot with it briefly in Hong Kong on my Nikon D800, and haven’t micro adjusted it yet to […]

The Beautiful people of Havana

Even though I visited over 40 countries, Cuba was still missing from my list. Up until now that is…. I just came back from Havanna, totally surprised, and my mind full of this wonderful city. I was so surprised with what I felt, when walking the streets of Havana. And walking I did, 7 hours a day,2 days in a row, I strolled down endless little streets with my camera in my hands. There is quite a lot of poverty, internet is for the majority of people non-existent, so my mindset when I started was to be a bit careful. But […]

X-E1 does Safdarjung Tomb

Just came back from Delhi, India. Always such a great and colorful place to photograph. And in wintertime not too hot. I only went to the Safdarjung Tomb, and after that strolled around the streets a bit with my still rather new Fujifilm X-E1 camera. What strikes me is how average the pics look on the camera’s rather underwhelming lcd screen, and how suprisingly good they look once copied to my computer. Since I shoot a lot of back lit photo’s, the contrast deteriorates much more then on my Nikkor pro lenses with nano-coating, but add alittle contrast in Lightroom, and […]

The mother of all blizzards,….not

Well, there was snow, there was a storm, and a lot of panic. But not as much as the press would make us think. I  had a wonderfull walk around 4am. Cold it was, but very doable. It was my first time I could use my new Fujifilm X-E1. Great great little camera!!!
